SUNCOAST
GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENTS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAM The goal of
the Suncoast Golf Course Superintendents Association Scholarship Program
is to support future golf course superintendents in their educational
needs. The Suncoast
Golf Course Superintendents Association is committed to awarding two
thousand dollars annually to this purpose.
The Association will award a quantity of two one thousand dollar
scholarships annually (five hundred dollars per semester per recipient).
If there are no eligible applicants, the Association reserves the
right to designate the scholarship funds accordingly.
The application deadline is June 1. Scholarships
are to be awarded only to students who meet the following requirements: 1.
Enrolled in an agricultural major emphasizing turfgrass
management. 2.
A minimum overall grade point average of 3.00. 3.
A full time student (i.e. 12 credit hours per semester) 4.
One full year of college completed.
5.
Golf course maintenance work experience.
6.
Sponsored by a member of the Suncoast chapter w/ a letter of
recommendation from that sponsor. The recipients of the scholarships must attend the annual meeting on the Tuesday before Memorial Day and maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 each semester. Marketing of
the program is to occur through turf management advisors at universities
and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
The Scholarship Chairman is to recommend those candidates he feels worthy of the award to the Board of Governors for final interview and approval. |
